New Resources

We have Glenn’s Sunday school class that was recorded last week ready on CD and for download if anyone would like a copy.

Also, we have the revival with Bro. Clark on CDs and DVD’s for anyone who would like copies. They will be available online and on our Podcast a little later.

If you would like a copy, please just me know. There are also some forms in the mediaroom if you can fill one of those out.

“God’s purpose was that we who were the first to trust in Christ should praise our glorious God” – Ephesians 1:12. Did you know that the best form of evangelism is praise? Many people struggle with remembering the “Roman Road” or the “Way of the Master”, but praise does wonders.

“Make the most of every opportunity for doing good in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but try to understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Then you will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts.” – Ephesians 5:16-19. The call to sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs is not a call for a church service but a commandment to each church member.

This week, don’t wait for Sunday to come around to sing to our Father. There are plenty of radio stations who are here to assist us. Keep your mind focused on Christ and try not to let the world cloud your minds with its own problems. “And you will always give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” – Ephesians 5:20.

Getting Stuff Done

Updated on June 29th.

Whether it’s stuff to do at the house or at work or everywhere else in between, it seems that we always run out of time. To help manage our time better, I found a todo list that really helps me. I have edited it just a little to meet my needs and I think that others might want a copy to.

Bitterness

“Bitterness, for instance, is like a cancer that makes you blind. I had allowed hurt to make my soul toxic, From my end, I was sure that I was just becoming a realist. In fact, I was desensitizing myself. Why risk being hurt more? I didn’t realize I was becoming blind to love. I couldn’t see the people around me who really cared. Their sincere efforts went unnoticed. If you had asked me then, I would have said they weren’t there. I look back now and realize I just couldn’t see them, but they were right in front of me the entire time. Bitterness turned to skepticism, which turned to cynicism, which turned to an emptiness of my soul.

“Bitterness is the enemy of love because it makes you unforgiving and unwilling to give love unconditionally.

“It is the enemy of hope because you keep living in the past and become incapable of seeing a better future.

“It is the enemy of faith because you stop trusting in anyone but yourself. I bring this up because I think many of us become blinded by a bitterness of the soul. If we are not careful, we will lose the ability to see such things as beauty, truth, or even affection. More importantly, you may close your eyes to what your soul needs you most to see.”

Soul Cravings

Once again an incredable quote.

“I’m often accused of being irreligious, and I suppose it’s for this very reason. Whether it’s Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Judaism, or any other ism, when a religion is created on the subtle premise that God withholds His love and you must submit to the system to earn that love, I consider it the worst of corruptions.

“But again these traps work only because of two things: we long for love, and we are convinced that all love is conditional.

“Ironically, this is where so many have a problem with Jesus. For centuries the church has been telling us if we want God to love us, we need to follow the rules. It’s been far more important to focus on the sin problem than the love problem. This is the only way the institution can maintain control over our lives. After all, if love is unconditional, what will keep them following our rules? Don’t we want people, first and foremost, to be good? If our goal is to get people to conform, you can accomplish that without love, but you can’t maintain a civilization without the rule of law.

“What governments have not always been able to do, religions have accomplished with amazing effectiveness. They keep people in line.

“What in the world would happen if people actually began discovering the actual message of Jesus Christ-that love is unconditional? What would happen if we began to realize that God was not, is fact, waiting for us to earn His love, but that He was passionately pursuing us with His love? What would happen if the world got out that Jesus was offering His love freely and without condition?”

When will churches start being about selling Jesus and not programs? When will we quit trying to get people to fit into our programs and into Jesus?

  1. Facebook – This really helps me stay connected with people. A youth minister gets to go to schools and such. Showing up to choir members jobs is called harassment. Facebook allows me to stay connected (at least with other facebook people).
  2. Gmail – I have all my email accounts going through gmail. Within Gmail, I have my calendars, documents, blogs, and other things. I like using it vrs. Outlook because I enjoy being able to check my email, calendars, and docs anywhere. You don’t even have to use gmail as your email address. You can use your own email address. (Sorry, I’ll quit advertising. But they are to introduce google wave which is going to change everything. )
  3. Dictionary.com – because I can’t spele.
  4. mindmeister – Helps me brainstorm on long-term planning.
  5. Rememberthemilk – todo lists that I have shared with others.
  6. Google Reader – It’s like reading all the websites in one place.
  7. LifeHacker.com – Helpful tips on just about anything.

I know you are reading this. What are your sites you visit almost everyday?

New Site

Sorry, the hosting company that I am using wants me to use a different blog. This explains the change. I’ll try to get everything up and running tomorrow.

Notes from Rev. 6

Revelation 6

Revelation 6 starts with the breaking of the 7 seals. A will in the Roman times was sealed with 7 seals. In chapter 5, Christ takes a document that will complete the restoration of God and man.

So this is one document that is sealed 7 times. All 7 seals have to be broken before the will can be read. Here are some things to remember about the book of Revelation before we continue.

It was not written with a strict chronological order. Yes the 4th seal comes after the 3rd and before the 5th. But just because John sees the vision of chapter 7 after the vision of Chapter 6 does not mean that what happens in chapter 7 will occur after the 7th seal is broken. We become very confused on how God reveals this to John. But think how much more confusing it would be if God showed it in exact chronological order vrs. a topical order.

Now, with that said, the 7-year tribulation is a made up term (it’s not in the Bible). But there is a 7 year period in scriptures that start the transition from one age to another (read Daniel). So if we are going to study scripture, you must put away all that stuff you already think you know. And you need to take your Hollywood additions and burn them. (Many people believe that the beginning of the seven years there will be mass panic in the streets, cars turned over and nucs going off. Thanks Tim Lahaye!) And we must begin to read Revelation like it was our first time again.

Something to think about. There is nothing that states the first seal is broken after the beginning of this 7-year transition.

Here is what I do know. The future is already written. What is going on in World politics is not catching God off-guard. God didn’t wake up this morning going “Oh dear, what happened last night?” The goal of the seals is to redeem man, not to torture him.

I also know that some people are already going through these seals. Who needs to go to North Korea when war is going off in their home? 2/3rds of the world goes to bed with hunger pains while I go to be with ate too much pains. And I’m sure none of us wants to be a martyr but its much harder to live as a true Christian with the temptation that we Americans have. Martyrdom is occurring all over Asia. We don’t have to wait for the 7 year transition to begin for that.

Let us pray that we all be obedient as we live through the seals that are in our lives. And pray that we can minister to others as they go through theirs.

Notes from Rev. 5

John became instantly fearful the instant he arose to the thrown room of God. Just like Isaiah, he must have had this “Uh oh” moment when you realize you probably could have done a lot of things differently. In an instant, all life-priorities became clear.

But John was waiting for the redemption of man. The voice told him that he was going to see what was going to happen to the end of the church age. He saw undescribable sights. He barely has the descriptive ability to write what he saw and what he wrote will never do justice to the actual presence.

After a moment in awe and wonder, a legal document was confronted to John. It was a will of execution. It had to be opened for the redemption of man to be complete. This was it. Finally the full redemption of man! John had been waiting for this moment but never imagined that it would unfold right before his eyes. Finally, the faith of the saints would be made complete! Finally, the believers will be with their creator! Finally, the bride will be with her groom! “O death where is thy sting? O grave where is your victory?”…

“Who will open this will?” asks a strong, stout angel. “Who will begin the ending of human history?” What about Abraham? Jacob? Moses? Noah? Isaiah?

No one could open that will…

“What!?!” says John. “Someone has to open that scroll!” John knew that if this will was not executed that mankind will not be redeemed. Was that it? John was to see the ending of the human history to find out that human history is nothing more than some enigma? This can’t be! “Please someone must start that execution!”

At that moment, a baby lamb, still bleeding at its neck, walks forward. God hands this lamb, our Savior, the will. He will redeem us!

At first John began to hear the 24 elders singing, “You are worthy to take the scroll.” Then John hears “The Lamb is worthy-The Lamb who was killed.”

“Where were these voices coming from?” asks John. He began to look around and thousands of millions of angels began to sing out, “The Lamb is worthy-The Lamb who was Killed!”

This was followed by the entire creation joining in. Every woman, child, man, animal, bird of the air, lion of the field, fish of the sea cried out “Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the One sititing on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever!”
